Membership in the Embroidery Trade Association brings with it an extraordinary array of benefits that provide the commercial embroiderer with information and ideas that can have a very significant impact on the bottom line. In addition to money-saving services, ETA membership provides useful resources to make the most efficient and effective use of your time.

Master Embroidery Manual   Return to Top
In the absence of a "how-to" training manual specifically for the embroidery industry, ETA stepped forward to develop and publish an embroiderer's encyclopedia especially for those new to the embroidery industry who have often commented, "This is all new to us and we need all the help we can get." The manual also provides tremendous assistance to veteran embroiderers who provide their own in-house training of machine operators. The Master Embroidery Manual (MEM) currently includes nine sections:
  1. Applied Pricing
  2. Hooping and Framing
  3. Applique
  4. Backings and Toppings
  5. Common Goods and Fabrics
  6. Intellectual Property Guide
  7. Needles
  8. Thread
  9. Stitch-Saving Strategies
Members enjoy a significant discount on purchasing the Master Embroidery Manual.

Membership Directory   Return to Top
Available only to members, the ETA membership directory is an online, searchable directory. The directory allows members to search for other members by company name, member representative's last name, and/or state. So, if you want to find someone near you to discuss local business issues...the directory is your resource. Or, if you would prefer to find someone far away...someone with whom you do not compete for business...this is the place, too!

Business Services   Return to Top
  • Access to FTC RN Database   Return to Top
From the ETA Members-Only area, we give you a direct link to the Federal Trade Commission RN (registered number) database. Here, you can search for manufacturers of textiles and, if you know the RN number of a garment, you can find the FTC's address of record for the manufacturer.

  • Business Operations Resources (articles, etc.)   Return to Top
ETA Business Operations Resources include articles about starting a business, running a business, participating in trade shows, dealing with intellectual property and copyright issues, and dozens of other topics of importance to small business owners and operators. We regularly develop and make available to our members information that is important to helping members' businesses develop, mature, and grow.
